A.P. Rounds are an Ammo Utility Item in XCOM 2.

  • Only one Ammo item can be equipped onto a soldier at a time.
  • Only successful shots benefit from the ammo effect (missed shots with Stock weapon upgrade do not apply the debuffs or status effects and the damage is not increased).

Tips[]

  • More effective on higher difficulty levels as enemies will gain higher armor values. It's less effective on Rookie/Veteran, as enemy armor is lower.
  • Combines well with the Grenadier's Holo Targeting and Shredder abilities. The Grenadier can perform squad opening shots to apply these effects for others, while using the rounds to pierce before the armor is stripped for additional damage.
  • Sniper Sharpshooters are easily able to destroy mechanical units from long range. They are generally less punishing to equip since snipers do not need protection vests in most cases. Can also feed kill streaks off Death From Above/Serial abilities.
