Notes[]
- Reveals Faceless and forces them to reveal themselves in their true form.
- Reveals Chryssalids and forces them to come out from the burrows.
- Contrary to the in-game description, the area stays scanned for 1 turn only (instead of 4 turns): after the enemy phase is over, the scanned area gets covered in fog of war.
- Battle Scanners only take a single action point to throw, and do not end the turn.
- Throwing a Battle Scanner does not break Concealment.
- Scanning a pod of enemies with a Battle Scanner that you otherwise cannot see will not cause them to become aggressive.
- Viewing enemies with a Battle Scanner does not allow you to target them with Squadsight.
- A Battle Scanner opens doors within its area of effect.
- In War of the Chosen, a Battle Scanner can reveal The Assassin and Spectres should they go invisible and move into its radius.
Tips[]
- Both Battle Scanners can be used in a single turn to scout a large area of the map at once, or perhaps throw one at a known Chryssalid location to remove it from burrow, and then follow up with a shot.
