Crew Chief Yarvo and Custodian Xel are the main dual leadership for the criminal faction Gray Phoenix in XCOM: Chimera Squad.
Description[]
Yarvo and Xel both lead different aspects of the Gray Phoenix organization. Yarvo commands the ground teams, tasking them with various missions to gather useful technology and kidnapping brilliant alien scientists from City 31 to make ready for their final plan. Xel, on the other hand, oversees their technological projects, including the use of said stolen tech and kidnapped individuals. This endgame of their's is to repair a damaged Invasion-era spacecraft beneath City 31 so that they and their followers can escape Earth, not back to the Elders but to a new home. If left alone until the last moment, their plans evolve to abduct the entire starport which in truth is a dormant mothership of the invasion. For this goal they steal and refine elerium.
Player Interactions[]
While Xel is never encountered in-game, Yarvo is the final boss in all of the final Gray Phoenix mission and acts as a Praetorian.

Crew Chief Yarvo and Custodian Xel both make their debut in the investigation of Gray Phoenix in XCOM: Chimera Squad.
If Gray Phoenix is apprehended early Xel will survive, otherwise she will sacrifice herself to save the city from a catastrophic failed launch of the mothership.

- Axiom mentioned that the names of Xel and Yarvo is both ship dialect, thus a alias. Xel means either "good route" or "safe passage", while Yarvo means either "newly forged" or "birthed in flame".
