Dazed is a mental status effect in XCOM 2: War of the Chosen.

Similarly to Stunned, dazed disables a unit's ability to act. Dazed can be inflicted by all of the Chosen. The dazed units can be abducted for interrogation (a unit is captured and removed from the battlefield), or the Chosen can extract information from them immediately (a unit stays on the battlefield and dazed is removed). After performing either of these actions, the Chosen will leave the battlefield [explanation needed]. Once the Chosen is defeated or killed, the dazed effect is removed from all XCOM soldiers.

Treatment[]

  • Special action:
    • Revive. Any non-dazed soldier (including a SPARK) can use the free Revive action on the adjacent dazed soldier. The Revive action has a chance to disorient a previously dazed unit. (the disoriented status effect is not immediately removed if the Chosen is defeated)
  • Ability property:

Immunity[]

Caused by[]

  • The Assassin's sword strike.
  • The Assassin's Harbour Wave ability.
  • The Hunter's tranquilizer pistol shot ability.
  • The Hunter's Concussion Grenade.
  • The Warlock's Mind Scorch ability.
  • Spectral Stun lancer attacks.

Tips[]

  • Psi Operative's Solace ability can be greatly exploited when baiting a Chosen to use an ability that exclusively causes the dazed status, as it wastes an action on doing nothing, if not their entire turn.

Reason: 1. Test if an active Overdrive Serum prevents this status effect.
2. Test if a Specialist's Restoration Protocol removes this status effect.
3. Test if Stand By Me (bond level 2 perk) removes this status effect.
4. Test if a SPARK is immune to dazed caused by all types of attacks inflicting this status effect.
5. Test if dazed is removed from all soldiers when a Chosen leaves the battlefield (e.g. after extracting info or abducting a soldier).
