The Flashbang Grenade is a grenade and utility item in XCOM 2.

Details[]

  • Effects: (negatively affects only enemies caught in the blast radius)
    • Inflicts Disoriented.
    • Removes Overwatch.
    • Kills Psi-reanimated corpses when used on the caster.
    • Releases friendly units from mind control if used on the caster.
    • Cancels Viper's bind.
  • Disoriented status effect prevents use of most special abilities:
    • Stun Lancers will not use their lance, Officers will not use grenades, Mutons will not counter-attack in melee, etc. [explanation needed]
    • Psionic aliens cannot use any Psi abilities, resorting to using their primary weapon for the duration.
      • Codex cannot Psi Bomb, Teleport or Clone.
  • Grenadier's Volatile Mix ability adds 2 damage to the grenade.
  • Limitations:

The Flashbang can benefit from the following bonuses:

Radius
• +1 when launched from Grenade Launcher.
• +2 when launched from Advanced Grenade Launcher.
Range
• +4 when launched from Grenade Launcher.
• +5 when launched from Advanced Grenade Launcher.
Actions Heavy Ordnance: Bonus use if in grenade-only slot.
Salvo: No longer ends turn if used as first action.
Total Combat: No longer ends turn when used.
