- Fire weapon will open Tactical combat UI and won't shoot instantly.
- Carry unit. Soldiers can carry unconscious, dead, and bleeding out units. This allows a soldier to retrieve a fallen comrade. If you successfully deliver a dead soldier to an EVAC zone, you will recover any items and equipment they were carrying. If you deliver a bleeding out soldier before they bleed out, you will prevent them from dying.
- Picking up a unit is a free action. Putting down a unit on the ground consumes one action point.
- EVAC. Rope out to the Skyranger. Only usable inside the EVAC zone.
- A free action which can be performed with no action points left.
- Hack. Attempt to breach security on an adjacent network access point. Certain objects can be hacked, granting bonuses on the tactical layer or boosting the hack stat of the hacker. To attempt to hack, move a squad member within range and use the hack action. The rewards for a successful hacking attempt are ranked in tiers: higher tiers are more difficult to achieve, but offer much greater rewards. Any squad member can hack, but only the Specialist class can hack remotly and use the Haywire Protocol ability to hack mechanical/robotic enemies.
- Hunker down. Increase Defense by 30 and Dodge by 50. Only works in cover. Their line of sight is reduced [explanation needed] until the next turn.
- The action requires only one action point, but ends the unit's turn.
- Interact. This action is used to open or close doors, plant explosives, or for any action that requires interacting with the environment.
- Opening/closing doors and planting explosive is a free action, but can only be performed if there is at least one action point available.
- Throw grenade. Throw a grenade at target area. (Only if the soldier has a grenade equippee)
- Requires one action point, but usually ends the unit's turn. (Salvo and Total Combat allow performing other actions after using a grenade)
