The Grenade Launcher is a secondary weapon for Grenadier Class soldiers.
It can launch any grenade or bomb in a soldier's inventory.

- Any grenade put in Utility Slot(s) and Grenade Slot will be launched from a Grenade Launcher, increasing the range and blast radius of a grenade/bomb.
- It can launch Ultrasonic Lures (introduced in XCOM 2: War of the Chosen).
- Launching a Proximity Mine does not break Concealment.
- It cannot be used to deploy other throwable items such as Mimic Beacons or Battle Scanners.
Grenades Ammo Quantity and Types[]
- Offensive grenades only:
- Standard quantity: 2 (1 from Utility Slot + 1 from Grenade-only Slot)
- Maximum quantity: 3 (grenade in Grenade Slot gains 1 additional use with Heavy Ordnance ability)
- Defensive grenades (Smoke Grenade/Bomb, Ultrasonic Lure) only:
- Standard quantity:
- 2 for Smoke Grenade/Bomb
- 4 for Ultrasonic Lure (each item has 2 uses)
- Maximum quantity:
- 4 for Smoke Grenade/Bomb (2 from 2 Utility Slots + 2 from Grenade Slot with Heavy Ordnance)
- 7 for Ultrasonic Lure (4 from 2 Utility Slots + 3 from Grenade Slot with Heavy Ordnance)
