Not to be confused with the XCOM 2 Grenadier class ability.

Holo-Targeting is an ability of the Heavy Class in XCOM: Enemy Unknown.

Shooting at or suppressing enemies also confers +10 Aim to any allies' attacks on those enemies.

– In-Game Description, XCOM: Enemy Unknown

Description[]

Holo-Targeting works well with a more mobility-focused squad or fire team and encourages focused fire to bring down tough targets. Holo-Targeting's usefulness is especially highlighted when used in tandem with the Danger Zone ability, which causes suppression to affect a small area around the target, which can result in a + 10 Aim bonus to an entire group of enemies. (This might be untested, as other information previously here along with it was completely false)

If given Holo-Targeting, a Heavy should typically fire first in all engagements, ideally at enemies in cover or in the distance, with the intention of making follow up shots by other classes easier. This can include allowing Assault teammates to score hits beyond the normal limits of a shotgun's ranged capabilities.

Holo-targeting does NOT stack, whether from the same soldier (Training Roulette would be required to get that circumstance), or from multiple soldiers.
