Lightning Reflexes is an ability of the Assault Class in XCOM: Enemy Unknown.
“ | Forces the first reaction shot against this unit each turn to miss. | ” |
– In-Game Description, XCOM: Enemy Unknown |
Description[]
Moving an Assault soldier with Lightning Reflexes to neutralize an enemy's Overwatch can allow the rest of your units to move with impunity; it also permits an Assault to break Suppression by moving without being hit by reaction fire. This can be especially critical on the higher game difficulties where any shot can prove lethal or on Council Missions where enemies (particularly Thin Men) tend to drop into the map and immediately go on Overwatch. While a friendly Suppression or Flush shot can also disable an enemy's Overwatch, Lightning Reflexes has the advantages of not ending a soldier's turn or using ammo.
Notes[]
- Only the first shot will be a guaranteed miss. If multiple enemies are on Overwatch, the other attacks only receive the usual Aim penalty.
