A Plasma Grenade is an explosive grenade and utility item in XCOM 2.

When the Plasma Grenade Proving Ground project is complete, all Frag Grenades are upgraded to Plasma Grenades.

The Plasma Grenade can benefit from the following bonuses:

Damage
• +2 with Volatile Mix Grenadier class ability.
• +2 Critical Damage (20% chance) if launched by Grenadiers with Biggest Booms upgrade.
Shred
• +1 with Weak Points Resistance Order.
Radius
• +1 when launched from Grenade Launcher.
• +2 when launched from Advanced Grenade Launcher.
Range
• +4 when launched from Grenade Launcher.
• +5 when launched from Advanced Grenade Launcher.
Actions Heavy Ordnance: Bonus use if in grenade-only slot.
Salvo: No longer ends turn if used as first action.
Total Combat: No longer ends turn when used.
Time
Bomb Squad: Completed instantly in Proving Grounds.
  • The Plasma Grenade deals increased damage to environmental objects: destroying trees; automobiles exploding immediately.
    • Compare with Frag Grenades: 2 frag grenades are required to destroy trees; a frag grenade ignites automobiles which then explode on the next turn, or 2 frag grenades are required to detonate an automobile on the same turn.
