Notes[]

  • The S.C.O.P.E. is a soldier's best friend and the ultimate accessory; its Aim bonus being well suited item for any class able to shoot twice per turn (i.e. Heavy, Assault and Sniper), with the possible exception of the Support class.
    • At the beginning of the game, grenades and Medikits tend to be more useful as low-ranking soldiers cannot produce reliable chances to hit in most scenarios even with the S.C.O.P.E. equipped. In the late game, the damage of grenades falls behind compared to shooting the target, which the S.C.O.P.E. helps with.
    • Snipers can make great use of this early on, as their Aim is low, it's better if they stay far away from enemies to maximize their hit chance, and it's difficult to gain height advantage and its inherent Aim bonus without the Skeleton Suit's Grapple or the Archangel Armor's jetpack. Higher-ranked Snipers have greatly improved Aim and may not need the S.C.O.P.E.'s aid to hit reliably even from ground level, although it's still useful to counter the 10% aim penalty of Disabling Shot.
