Thomas Nils is an Agent for the Bureau.
Description[]
Agent Nils is a seasoned field operative belonging to the Recon Class.
Not much is known about him, due to his in-game death happening rather untimely and early into the campaign, though judging by the circumstances of his demise, agent Nils was presumably very brave and skilled, though also reckless and impatient, as he did not bother waiting for backup to arrive before charging in to apprehend the Infiltrator, which led to his downfall.
According to his killer, agent Thomas Nils "fought well" before ultimately losing and dying.

Agent Nils appears in the game The Bureau: XCOM Declassified and is voiced by Yuri Lowenthal.
Agent William Carter encounters Agent Nils while trying to reach Director Faulke during the alien attack at Groom Range. He is later found dead on the floor of a medical ward, shot by an Infiltrator.

- In his introductory cinematic, agent Nils can be seen using an M14 Rifle despite belonging to the Recon class. He automatically brandishes an M1903-A4 Sniper Rifle upon joining up with Carter, though.
- Nils' death is one of the three scripted agent KIAs in the game's storyline, alongside John Kinney and Michael Redmond, and as such cannot be prevented no matter how quickly the player reaches the medical ward.
