–Torque |
Torque is an agent in XCOM: Chimera Squad.
Description[]
Hatched at a New Arctic facility in 2020, Torque spent the alien occupation as a tracker hunting down resistance groups. After XCOM won the war in 2035, Torque got herself out of detention by offering to train rookie soldiers against ADVENT tactics. She worked alongside Colonel Kelly, and the two formed a close bond, paving the way for Torque’s eventual placement in Chimera Squad.
Torque is a master of unit manipulation, using her long tongue to drag enemies from cover and pull squad mates out of harm’s way. She can poison enemies to deal sustained damage or bind enemies and prevent them from taking any actions.[1]
Torque's weapon of choice is a Submachine Gun.

Tips[]
- Tongue pulling an enemy will trigger overwatch fire onto them as if they had moved. It will similarly cause enemies to be poisoned when pulled through poison pools.
- Tongue pulling Blueblood will trigger his Ever Vigilant ability, placing him on overwatch.
- Tongue Pull costs one action but does not end Torque's turn. Poison Spit similarly lets Torque still take an action afterwards.
- As a Viper, Torque has a high base dodge value. Equipping her with Mach Weave adds +30 Dodge, increasing the chance that any shot that hits her will only do grazing damage. Contrary to the name, the Dodge stat does not allow you to avoid being hit entirely; Defense is the stat that can prevent hits. Dodge only downgrades damage received from successful shots.
- Gas Grenades with Synthetic Venom upgrades will enable Torque to heal in the poison cloud, but be aware that they will still do damage to her if she is in the blast radius.
- All Bosses are immune to Tongue Pull and Bind.
- Despite not being Large sized, Chryssalids and Turrets cannot be pulled or bound.
- VIPs and Hostages can be targeted by Tongue Pull, but regular civilians cannot.
Trivia[]
- Torque's voice actress, Erica Lindbeck, was not aware that Torque was a viper during the recording of lines.
- In game, Torque never explicitly refers to herself as one.
