UFO Tracking (Boost) is an armament module for Interceptors in XCOM: Enemy Unknown.
In-Game Description[]
“ | Activate this module during interception to provide an immediate, temporary boost to our unit's pursuit speed. The module will burn out after one use. Its technology lets us focus our satellites' computation resources on UFO pursuit, and might buy precious time to chase down even the fastest UFOs. | ” |

Production Specifications[]
Prerequisites: Cyberdisc Autopsy (Research)
Production Time: Immediate
Production Cost: §20, 2 Cyberdisc Wrecks, 10 Engineers
Tactical Info[]
- Allows Interceptors to temporarily "freeze" the engagement timer, granting five additional seconds for the Interceptor to disable/destroy the UFO it is pursuing.
- When the Boost is triggered at the start of an engagement, as the name implies, it also boosts the XCOM craft into close range. This increases the potential of hard-hitting short-ranged craft armament against larger UFOs, especially in the early game. It should only be used when intercepting a difficult class of UFO, due to the rarity of Cyberdisc wrecks in the early game.
- Later in the game, the range-closing effect remains useful, vastly increasing the effectiveness of Firestorms armed with EMP cannons against Battleships (otherwise, on high difficulties, even a Firestorm may take too much damage while attempting to get into range). This will yield a large bounty of intact artifacts for research or sale (easily offsetting the small cost of manufacturing the Boost module).
